On Sunday I took a little walk in to the Village to wander around the monthly farmer's market and on the way back I stopped to take a closer look at the bench just outside my house. It has a little plaque on it commemorating the Woburn Pound for stray animals. I have since Googled this but cannot find anything about a pound in Woburn. But there is a Heritage Centre in the village, housed in the Old Saint Mary's church, which is a museum of local history, so I might go and check it out next weekend and see if they know anything about the Woburn Stray Animal Pound.
