I begain my Blog back in June 2010 as a way of recording the events and planning of my 10 week charity project, I continued to use it throughout the 10 weeks and for some time after. During that time I discovered my love for blogging and have decided to continue blogging the randoms goings on in my life today!
I am planning on taking a 10 week Lifestyle Break from my job as a Photoghrapher to make a difference to the lives of orphans, animals, the homeless and the elderly by volunteering to a variety of worthwhile causes both locally and overseas.
The Charities I have chosen are all very close to my heart and very worthwhile causes; Hula Animal Rescue, MK Soup Runners, Age UK Milton Keynes, Cancer Research, Rabbit Welfare Association and an Orphange in Vietnam.
This is a self funded project so I been saving really hard to cover my rent and bills during the 10 weeks, but still have a way to go and I'm starting to think about getting a credit card!
Inspiration Behind the Project
During the heavy snow at the begining of the year, it seemed that everyone was stressing about getting into work and complaining about the chaos the snow had caused. This got me thinking about the homeless sleeping in the snow, the stray animals with no food or shelter, how the elderly were coping not wanting to spend their money on heating and about other suffering around the world, all while we worried about having to clear the snow out of our driveways! Looking at my life and the direction it had taken, I concluded that I was in a position where I could actively do more to help others and decided to give my time and effort to help enhance their lives through volunteer work and do something truly wonderful and worthwhile.
